What you will notice

• Rifles, barrels and loads can now be deleted, in Equipment on the computer and in Ballistics on the phone; it asks first, and sessions saved with them keep the name. (Error report 38).
• On the phone, a new sync folder names this phone by its maker and model instead of GroupLab's version line; Find a setting finds more settings by everyday words such as Dropbox or bigger; and at the larger text sizes the marking screen's field names wrap instead of running past their box.
• A new sheet marked on the same picture as an earlier one is now saved as a session of its own instead of replacing the earlier session; any lost this way can be put back from a daily copy in Settings. (Error reports 39 and 40).

Under the hood

• On the phone, a sync still running when you stop syncing no longer records itself as the last sync afterwards.
• Nothing changes for a person using GroupLab; the project can now make its own screen recordings for its videos.
• Reading a target finds its holes about a fifth sooner on a large scan and on photographs, with every result exactly as before.
• The phone's screen walk now pictures the Sync between devices page, using a sample folder in the app's own storage, for the website.

What you will notice

• A damaged session file, marking or GroupLab data file is now refused with a plain reason instead of failing, a data file is imported whole or not at all, and a sync file a cloud service left damaged now waits until it arrives whole.

What you will notice

• In Settings, Sync and your data, each other device in the sync folder now has Forget this device, for one that will not sync again: tidying stops waiting for it and nothing in the folder is deleted.
• Choosing a different, empty sync folder now writes all your records there, where before only changes made afterwards reached it.
• Correction: on the phone, a GroupLab data file opened from another app works as it did in nightly 217 and shows what importing it would add on Settings, Sync and your data; nightly 218's notes wrongly listed two fixes for it.
• On the phone, holes found on a target with no bulls no longer carry numbers, as on the computer, because a number beside a hole reads as the order the shots were fired.
• The computer downloads now come precompiled, so the first photograph after GroupLab starts is read about a quarter sooner; the downloads are about an eighth larger.

What you will notice

• The scale badge on the analysis now sits at the top of the figures with a line saying how the scale was found, such as from the printed markers on all 3 sheets against your printer check, and the sheet's name at the top has its full room.
• Which target is this? is now a short bar along the bottom of the picture, with the bullseye moved up whole above it so it is never covered; on the phone it is a sheet under the picture.
• The guided demo's card now sits beside the part it describes, with a small pointer toward it, instead of covering the words it is about.
• The first run now asks one question at a time, with Back, Skip for now and Next, so each question and its buttons fit on a small screen, and a skipped question is asked again next time.
• On the marking picture each bull's number now sits outside its ring and each hole's number in a tag that covers no other number or hole, several holes on one bull fanned out in a column, and the shot you select is an open magenta ring that leaves the hole in sight, on the computer and in Fix holes on the phone.
• On the phone, Scale markers on Targets now reads as plain text, with a button beside each marker's name that explains it, and at the largest text sizes Made for your optic puts one field to a row with its label above it.
• On Compare loads, two loads now keep their group pictures at their size and the rest of the card says What the difference means: both loads' main figures side by side, whether these shots can tell them apart, and how many shots would.
• On the analysis, the shots list's headings now name their unit, such as across, in, and the plot's key sits in a compact box under the plot instead of over it, in two columns where it fits; on the phone the key sits under its plot too.

Under the hood

• On the phone's tour, the step's number no longer sits on the card's words when the card has to cover part of the screen it describes.

What you will notice

• Sync between devices: your sessions, rifles, loads and sheets can now stay the same on your computer and your phones through a folder your own cloud app already keeps in step, with no account; set it up in Settings.
• In Conditions on the day, the link to the rifle's page wraps onto its own line instead of running off the side of a wide window.
• Across the computer and the phone, nothing is cut off at small window sizes or the largest text any more: table headings, long choices and labels wrap, trimmed names show in full when you point at them, and the hint inside an empty box is easy to read.
• A save, a print or a file that will not open now says so in the middle of the window, as other failures do, instead of in a small line, on the computer and the phone.
• Speeds read in feet a second everywhere, and the phone names distances and lengths as the computer does.

• A third Ballistics view, Point blank, shows how far you can hold dead on and still land your chosen share of shots in an animal's vital zone or a target, how to set the zero in clicks, and prints a card for the rifle.
• On a small phone, the heading that opens the tracking test on the rifle's page now wraps onto a second line instead of being cut off.
• Next unsure hole, and saving while a rebuilt panel had the focus, no longer raise an error on the computer, and tapping the result sheet on the phone away from every hole no longer does either (found from 5 automatic error reports).

• A target GroupLab sends now says whether it went by itself or because you pressed Send, one word and nothing personal, so the notes can say where the targets behind a detection change came from. (Entry 458)

• The shot you select now stands out with a larger ring and a crosshair over everything else, on the picture, the plot and the small sheet, and its row in the table has an amber bar and bold numbers, even in a pooled set with many shots and in the dark theme.
• Connecting to a label printer now starts each way of connecting at once, so a busy device no longer counts its own delay against the printer and gives up on one that would have answered.
• The Shots list ends with the group's center, the figure the zero correction uses, and a shot you mark as a sighter is now left out of the zero correction and the plot as it already was from the group's figures.
• The zero correction now says leave it, and why, for an axis too close to the aim to tell from the scatter instead of leaving it out without a word, and Settings can give both clicks always instead.
• Scans or photos of one set dropped onto GroupLab together now open in one tab, pooled, with no button to press, as Quack and Jylee asked, and Check one sheet opens any sheet alone to fix it. A picture dropped onto a tab that already holds a target now opens beside it instead of replacing it.
• On the phone you can choose several photos at once, and the sheets of one set chosen together open as the set's checklist with the pooled group showing.

• A change made earlier today to how GroupLab applies its look after a change of text size is taken back, as the fault it answered was in the checks rather than the application.
• The ballistic solver's warm-up when GroupLab starts is now checked to run in the background by where it runs, not by how long it took on a busy computer.

What you will notice

• With no chronograph readings, the analysis now lets you import a file, drop one on it, or type the speeds right there, and matches them to your shots.
• Every hole now has a line to the bull it was given, and lines worth a second look are dashed in orange with a question mark; tap a bull, then tap holes to give them to it or take them away.
• Switching from a thermal printer back to your sheet printer no longer leaves a red warning about the page being cut off. Thanks to Quack on the Discord for the report.
• A barrel's length and twist, a rifle's cartridge and scope, and a load's powder, charge and primer are now kept when you close GroupLab; before, they were lost.
• Paper and backing now sit in a closed "For the hole size studies" section at the bottom of the setup, and are remembered for your next sheet unless you turn that off; the phone can record them too.
• Barrels now sit under their rifle: each rifle lists its barrels with the one on now, the setup names rifle and barrel together, and your existing barrels are moved under their rifles after GroupLab keeps a copy of your data.
• Leaving a shot out no longer asks why, and the session's folder now opens from the ··· menu at the top right instead of the bottom bar.
• The Shots list is now short rows; open one to change its bull, say when it was fired, count it or leave it out, or delete it as not a hole, which can still be undone.
• The Groups section now asks how you shot the sheet in plain words, lets you tap bulls that took two or that you did not fire at, sets loads by row or column, and reads back what GroupLab will make of it.

• The banner for a chosen bull names a numbered bull as "bull 7", and the screens for this release's changes are now drawn for grouplab.org from the application itself.

What you will notice

• On the phone, adding a hole in Fix holes now shows the bulls to choose from when it asks which bull the hole was fired at, and answering no longer leaves the page blank; before this, the hole you were adding was lost, though your earlier marking was kept.
• A photo of a GroupLab target that has lost its camera details, for example after passing through a messaging app, is now measured with its lens corrected, so its bulls read closer to where they are and clean holes at the far side are no longer ringed as possible doubles.
• On the phone, a photographed GroupLab target's result comes up about a tenth sooner after the picture is taken, measured by running the phone's own reading on a computer.

• Nothing changes beyond what the corrected note for entry 400 says; this puts back the earlier way of reading a sheet's codes while a test that stopped on one platform is looked into.

• Nothing in the application changes; the project can now build its command line for an arm64 Linux server, to read sent targets there.

• On the phone, closing the last open target from the Open targets sheet after going back to Capture no longer reports an error; the start of Capture shows as it should. (Error report 26).
• Pages printed straight to the Phomemo M834 from the phone or the computer are now drawn 0.7 percent longer along the paper, because two test prints showed the M834 feeds that much short, so a sheet should come out true to size both ways.

What you will notice

• On Windows, Targets can now print a sheet straight to a Phomemo M834 paired over Bluetooth, sending the same page the phone sends; it is built and not yet tried on a real M834 from a computer, and on macOS and Linux the choice says it is not available there yet.
• The second of two M220 scale labels printed from the phone could come out shifted to the left with its left codes cut off; GroupLab now lets each label finish before sending the next.

• On the phone, the Counted and Left out switch on the Shots page is now as tall as a fingertip, so it is easier to tap.
• A file claiming to be larger than 400 megapixels is refused before it is read, with its size and the limit in the message.
• Clicking an empty part of the marking screen with the hand tool no longer reports an error. (Error report 25).
• GroupLab's speed now has a measured starting point on the computer and the phone, so later changes can be held to it.
• The phone's screenshots and speed measurements on the Android emulator now reach every screen they picture.

What you will notice

• You can now have several targets open at once, each in its own tab across the top of the window, with its name, whether it is marking or analysis, and a dot that turns amber when it is not saved; Ctrl+Tab moves between them, and closing one with unsaved marks asks first.
• On the phone, several targets can now be open at once: tap the target's name at the top of its screen to see them with a small picture of each, switch to one or close one, and closing one with marks not saved asks first. (Concept A, several targets open at once).
• Naming one bull as holding two shots no longer moves the shots in the bulls below it on to the wrong bulls.
• The session report now gives the zero correction in the words the screen uses: the clicks and their size, the distance, and what rounding leaves, in one sentence.

Under the hood

• A scope set in NATO mil is now named in NATO mil where the zero correction says what a click is, instead of being called MOA. (Proof checklist, 2026-10-08).

• A picture whose codes are hard to read is now read in about half the time on the phone, using much less memory.

• On iPhone and iPad the camera's instruction panel now sits above the preview instead of over it, so the preview shows the whole picture, and the stray dash beside the quality bar is gone.
• Cancel now works at once while a picture is being read, keeps the picture so you can read it again or choose its sheet, and a reading that takes over a minute stops and says why instead of spinning.
• Choosing a caliber now leaves a short name such as 6.5 Creedmoor, 0.264 in, a tap on the box selects it all so you can type a new one straight away, and a clear button empties it, on the phone and the desktop.
• Distance, click value, velocity and the other number boxes on the iPhone, iPad and Android now open the number pad with a decimal point instead of the full keyboard.
• Compare's verdict on the phone now says in plain words how far apart the loads' spreads could be and how many shots would tell them apart, with the exact figures under Details.
• On an iPad, an Android tablet or the open Fold, Compare now draws each load's group large across the whole screen, and a Back to Sessions button sits at the top.
• In Guided mode the camera now takes the picture about a second after the sheet is framed well, instead of making you hold still for several seconds; what counts as well framed is unchanged.

• On Android, a photo or scan chosen from the phone is now read at the size GroupLab works at instead of at full size first, so a large scan needs far less memory.
• Photographs taken under uneven light are read better: a shadow across part of the sheet no longer hides a hole or turns plain paper into one, and paper near the sheet's edge is no longer mistaken for a hole.

• You can now click a hole to edit it, move it with the arrow keys, call it a flyer without dropping it from the group, set its size by hand and leave a note on it.
• Every figure on the analysis page now has a ? beside it explaining what it means and what the number of shots does to it.
• The analysis page can now be switched between inches with MOA and centimetres with mil, and remembers which you chose. Your saved sessions are unchanged either way.
• The analysis page can now show your group's mean radius per 100 yards on a scale, against rules of thumb quoted on a Hornady podcast, with a plain note on how much weight your shot count can carry.
• The zero correction is now shown in MOA, mil, inches and centimetres at once, with the number of clicks to turn where your rifle's scope details are recorded.
• Every figure on the analysis page can now tell you what it means in two or three plain sentences, including what having only a few shots does to it.
• Every edit now shows a short line at the bottom right saying what changed, with an Undo button beside it, instead of changing the sheet silently.
• A sheet where the whole group landed away from where it was aimed is now measured against the bulls you actually shot at, once you tell GroupLab which those were.
• Rifles and loads now keep everything you type about them. Sight height, zero distance, muzzle velocity, ballistic coefficient and the rest were being lost when the records were saved.
• The download is about a third smaller, and the installed application about 128 MB smaller, with no change to what it does.
